Positions are for specifying where on a unit/round a deviation has occurred. When you enter positions on a unit/round, these become selectable when a user reports deviations. So instead of having to write where the deviation occurred, they can choose a position.

You start by creating a position group, then add positions to this group and you can have up to three levels of positions.

Unlike categories, positions are unique to the unit/round.

Free text

If you check the Free text box when creating a position group, the user can create a new position himself as he reports a deviation and does not have to select a position from the list.

Show in deviation heading

If you check Show in the deviation heading box, the position will be displayed in the deviation heading. This is to clarify where the deviation occurred. You can only allow the positions of a position group to be displayed in deviation headings per unit/round.
